Abu Dhabi Science Festival 2016

17 Nov 2016

The Abu Dhabi Science Festival (ADSF) held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, is a globally awarded strategic initiative organized by the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC). ADSF supports the development of human capital in the science and technology sectors in line with Abu Dhabi 2030 Vision and the UAE Innovation Strategy. It aims to spark the imagination of the nation’s youth in science and technology, encouraging them to pursue STEM subjects throughout their education and career choices.

Now in its 6th edition, ADSF is the largest annual science festival in the region and has been attended by more than 600,000 visitors since its inception.

ADSF 2016 will showcase exciting, engaging and educational activities for the whole family: from fun workshops to interactive exhibits and spectacular shows. Bursting with hugely popular returning content and featuring exciting additions, ADSF 2016 will be running at full capacity from day one. Parents are advised to check the programme and book tickets online to avoid long queues and ensure space availability.

ADSF welcomes this year visiting students through its hugely successful school tour program. The festival’s programme has been designed to complement the national science curriculum, in addition to ADEC’s key innovation initiatives and the journey of discovery.

Hundreds of science communicators comprised of higher education students and ADSF alumni from local universities will also be recruited and trained by world-class experts from the Edinburgh International Science Festival (EISF), our programming partner, to deliver this celebration of science in ways that excite and engage the next generation of scientists, technologists and innovators.
