Bibliotheca Alexandrina: Science Festivity 2012

23 Feb 2012

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) organizes the sixth Science Festivity on 28-29 March 2012. The overarching theme of SF 2012 is “Natural Sciences: Earth and Sun”. The event will raise the public awareness of the importance of saving our limited natural resources, and preserving the environment through knowledge.

SF 2012 is planned to highlight the role the Sun plays in humankind life, being a source of energy, and a part of the Earth’ Solar System, and the reflection of this on agriculture, water cycle, animals, human body, and astronomy. Also, it will explain terrestrial nature in various aspects, including agriculture, industry, environment, construction, and geology. SF 2012 will demonstrate through hands-on-activities that science is best assimilated by simple interactive application rather than traditional reciting and memorizing. SF 2012 visitors will also know more about our Earth and Sun through documentaries, and plays.

SF is a main public event that gives science a presence in the community, and suits people of all ages and different backgrounds. Visitors of the Science Village will experience the pleasure of lifelong learning by participating in the various entertaining activities offered; whether with family, friends, or on their own.
