Biography:
Essam Heggy is a Research Scientist at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and a Visiting Associate Professor in Geology at the Geological and Planetary Science Department in the California Institute of Technology. He obtained a bachelor degree from Cairo University, Egypt, in 1997, then received a Master's and Ph.D. in 1999 and 2002 respectively in astronomy and planetary science from the Paris VI University in France, all with distinguished honors. Before joining JPL, he was a Visiting Scientist at the Lunar and Planetary Institute and Associate Professor at the Institute de physique du Globe in Paris.
