Biography:

Sylvia joined the Exploratorium 17 years ago as an educator. She has led the professional development of our team of educators who work directly with field-trip students and who support teachers in creating experiences that inspire students to explore the world around them. Currently, she collaborates with our partner organizations to develop programs and staff professional development experiences, as well as leads the public programs initiatives for family and adult visitors at the Exploratorium. Sylvia holds a BA in Art Education from San Francisco State University, where she studied interactive conceptual arts. Before joining the Exploratorium, Sylvia worked in afterschool environmental and arts education programs.
