Biography

I was born in the 1980s and grew up in the mountainous interior of Portugal. I earned a master’s degree in Biology from the University of Coimbra, inspired by the idea of discovery and by science communicators such as David Attenborough. More than a traditional Science person, I see myself as a curious explorer, interested in people, places, and diverse ways of thinking.
During university, I realized that academic research was not my path and found my place in education at the Botanical Garden, where I developed pedagogical and environmental education work. I complemented my background with training in renewable energy, organic farming, forest ecology, and documentary cinema, believing in the fusion of science and visual arts. I currently work at the Pavilion of Knowledge, where I progressed from Mediator to co-coordinator of the Mediators’ team, and I am now coordinating the Open Science Platform, a Ciência Viva Science Center.
