Biography

Aya Kirresh is an architect, visual artist, and product designer based in Jerusalem. She is a lecturer and Architecture Program Coordinator at Dar Al-Kalima University, where she teaches architecture and design through hands-on, material-driven approaches that emphasize spatial thinking, prototyping, and making as a learning method.
Alongside her academic work, Aya is a Project Officer and maker at Al-Elieh for Science, Environment and Art, where she develops and facilitates maker- STEAM-based workshops, community making programs, and interdisciplinary cultural initiatives that connect art, science, and environmental awareness.
Her practice operates at the intersection of architecture, material experimentation, and community engagement, often working with low-tech processes and recycled materials such as concrete, textiles, and wood. Through teaching, makerspace sessions, and design projects, Aya explores how structure, craft, and storytelling can create accessible and inclusive spaces for learning and creative production.
