Hanaa Hosny

Hanaa Hosny received her Bachelor’s degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering, in May 2003, from the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University. In December 2003, she joined the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) Planetarium Science Center (PSC) as a Science Education Specialist. Ms. Hosny then moved to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) where she worked as an International Business Coordinator in RHM Company (Aramco’s subcontractor), and then joined Scitech Science Center in Khobar, as an Educational Program Coordinator, from May 2006 to May 2007.

In April 2009, she rejoined the BA as the Head of the Educational Programs and Events Unit at the PSC, then the Head of Programs and Events Section, since June 2013. She is currently the Acting Director of the BA PSC.

Ms. Hosny’s main aim is to disseminate science, scientific culture and methods, in addition to the values of science to the general public from all ages and sectors of the Egyptian society, with a special emphasis on school and university students. In order to promote and develop modern educational techniques among new generations, Ms. Hosny is working hard to connect informal and formal science education. She intends to collaborate with different cultural and educational institutions and science museums all over the world in the fields of STEM education and science communication.
