It is our pleasure to inform you that the first of the Jcom Masterclasses courses, entitled "Developing successful museums and science centres", is approaching, the course starts the 26th of September and deadline for registration is the 19th of August. This course will help participants who are already, or plan to be, involved in such projects to set their goals, to choose among current opportunities, to build up teams, to develop a master-plan, to choose a marketing and branding strategy, etc.

CITTÀ DELLA SCIENZA: ONE YEAR LATER, LET’S START AGAIN

On March 4, 2013 a criminal fire destroyed the Science Centre of Città della Scienza in Naples. On the occasion of the first anniversary next Tuesday, a Framework Program Agreement that will kick off the rebuilding will be signed between the Italian Government, Regione Campania, the City of Naples and Città della Scienza.

This week, world leaders gathered for a momentous occasion — the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro. Will it be a success? In my opinion, yes. To be sure, the negotiations have been lengthy. Even now there is more disagreement than agreement on the details of the so-called “outcome document” that will emerge. Yet that will not be the defining measure. Far more important is what the Rio conference has already accomplished. And that is to build a global movement for change.
