NAMES 2008 Conference, 2-3 November
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center, EGYPT
Under the theme "The Role of Science Centers in Establishing Knowledge-Based Societies in the Region", the following sub-themes were tackled:
- Networking and Advocacy;
- Effective and Non-Traditional Methods of Science Communication.
Keynote Speakers were:
- Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Egypt;
- Dr. Farouk Elbaz, Director, Center for Remote Sensing, Boston University, Boston, MA, USA,
Adjunt Professor, Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt;
- Dr. Shirley Malcom, Head of the Education and Human Resources Programs at AAAS, USA.
NAMES 2008 featured 23 Session Speakers from 17 different countries, 13 Exhibitors, and 950 Participants.
