Under the theme “Paradigm Shift?Changing Architecture, Technologies and Players”, the Nano-Satellite Symposium was held from 10 to 13 October 2012 at Nagoya, Japan. The Symposium is an academic meeting promoting technological development of nano-satellites and their applications, as well as enhancing awareness about their benefits.

BA Planetarium Science Center: The PSC Participates in 2012 International Conference on Science Communication

The University of Lorraine (Nancy, France) organized the 2012 International Conference on Science Communication, held on 2-7 September 2012. Almost 300 participants took part in the event, brought together around the theme “Science Communication: International Perspectives, Issues and Strategies”.

BA Planetarium Science Center: Intel-Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and Engineering Fair

The Planetarium Science Center is organizing Intel-Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and Engineering Fair (Intel-BASEF) 2013 during the period 9-11 March 2013. The competition targeting school students (14–18 years) is designed to increase their awareness of the importance of scientific research. Submitted projects are evaluated and screened on two stages.

The Planetarium Science Center (PSC) organized the “Environment Day”, on Monday, the 8th of October 2012, at the BA Plaza. The event aims at raising public awareness of the importance of preserving the our environment. The event comprised a diversity of interactive scientific and cultural activities, designed to suit different ages and social backgrounds, and presented inside the gigantic tent on the BA Plaza.

Realizing his distinguished stature, the Planetarium Science Center (PSC) proudly hosted the Fermi Legacy Exhibition, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center (West Exhibition Hall), during the period 6 to 25 November 2012. The exhibition comprised 10 panels, and 8 groups of photos, and numerous quotations; describing his background, his life, and his achievements and contributions as one of the 20th century leading scientists.
