NAMES network is pleased to announce that we will join the first Arab Forum for Science Media and Communication as a partner. Moreover, you will meet four of our esteemed members through an interesting virtual session that will be held on Tuesday, 23 February 2021, 12:00-13:30 EET, where they will be discussing the challenges they have faced during the pandemic and sharing best practices and lessons learned.

Going forward regional networks are continuing our active collaboration through future convenings and through common action to advance science engagement, science communication, and science learning in communities across the world. We will work together with and for our members to strengthen the work we do to connect science and society to solve global challenges and advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The Egyptian Science Week was launched in 2016, succeeding in bringing together 2.5 million participants through its events, which led to its expansion to become a regional event that included the whole Arab world. The event witnessed the participation of a number of speakers who are science pioneers in the Arab world, to discuss significant scientific issues in all science fields.

The six regional networks of science centres and museums that span the globe––ASPAC, ASTC, Ecsite, NAMES, RedPOP, and SAASTEC––are together offering three online Forums for their members’ chief executives on the science-engagement field response to, and recovery from, the COVID-19 pandemic.

Under the challenging circumstances imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, NAMES 7th conference is postponed; a new date to be scheduled for 2021.

NAMES 2020 Call for Session Proposals is OPEN; check out the Session Proposal Guidelines, get in touch with your peers to develop an inspiring session proposal to share with us your much-valued experiences, whether it be best practices or lessons learnt. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the final deadline to receive session proposals has been postponed to Thursday, 30 April 2020.
