The North Africa and Middle East Science Centers Network (NAMES) held its Third General Assembly Meeting, NAMES 2012, on 5-6 December 2012. The hugely successful event was hosted by Tunis Science City. The success of the conference solidified the status of the Network on the international arena with 100 delegates representing their countries.
The overarching theme of NAMES 2012 was “Science for Regional Sustainable Development”. The conference featured Keynote Speeches by eminent speakers: Michel Cabaret, Director of Espace des Sciences, Rennes, France; and Mohamed Larbi Bouguerra, Consultant at the World Health Organazation and UNESCO.
NAMES 2012 also featured an Exhibition Fair that included national and international exhibitors such as: Planetarium Science Center, Egypt, Palias des Sciences de Monastir, Tunis, as well as Hüttinger, Germany, and Bruns, Netherlands.

NAMES 4th General Assembly Meeting will be hosted by Bursa Science and Technology Center in 2014.
