Astronomy has long been one of the Arab world’s most successful collective scientific enterprises, uniting scholars, institutions, and societies across geography, language, and faith. This keynote revisits that legacy not as history, but as a model for engagement today: how astronomy once built knowledge communities, how it is doing so again through modern observatories, data networks, education, and space projects, and how it can help shape a confident, collaborative scientific future for the region.
