Learning by Doing: My First Field Experience

This talk shares my first field experience as a beginner scientific content representative in Mishkat summer camp, focusing not on what was taught, but on what was learned professionally.

Entering the camp with limited experience, I faced challenges that no training manual could fully prepare me for: engaging different personalities, adapting under pressure, and finding my voice within a team. This session reflects how these moments reshaped my understanding of engagement as a human connection built through presence, flexibility, and trust.

Rather than presenting best practices, this talk offers an honest perspective from the early stage of a professional journey. It highlights how informal learning environments can become powerful spaces for growth, not only for learners, but for new practitioners discovering their role in building learning communities.

The session aligns with the conference themes of rethinking engagement and strengthening communities by showing how empowering emerging educators is a key step toward sustainable impact.
