Hassun El-Zafar
CEO of the Edinburgh Science Foundation
Hassun El-Zafar is the Chief Executive Officer of the Edinburgh Science Foundation in which he oversees the Edinburgh Science Festival and Edinburgh Science Worldwide partnerships. This includes the delivery of science festivals and programmes globally - most recently the Art-Science Family Festival in Los Angeles (a 2024 partnership with Getty). Before joining Edinburgh Science, El-Zafar led the public programmes of the Royal Institution of Great Britain and shaped the public engagement programmes at the Royal Society of Chemistry and the UK Research Institute. He has a background as a secondary science teacher with a specialism in Chemistry.
