Tunis Science City: 1st Term Activities

10 Jan 2013

Tunis Science City activity programme during the first term of the year 2013 will be highlighted with two important events. The first one is the Reopening of the Planetarium and second one is the Holding of the First National Festival of Astronomy.

After having been closed for roughly one year, our planetarium, often nicknamed the Blue Ball, has been given a new look. It has been equipped with digital fulldome video systems offering the opportunity to be embarked on an astronomical adventure, to learn about the complex motions of the heavens. The purpose is to stimulate and foster people from all walks and particularly children’s long-term interest in the sky and stars.

As for the First National Astronomy Festival, March 21-23, 2013, it will make it possible for amateur and professional astronomers to meet, to exchange their know-how and to share their experience. It is worthy of note that internationally renowned scientists will honour this meeting with their presence.

These two featured events will not anyhow eclipse T.S.C. other activities such as the thought proving lecture entitled the memory of water scheduled on March 22, the International Young Inventors Olympiad, on February 22-25, and finally our science cafés dealing with several themes such as Drug and Tobacco addiction, Schizophrenia, and bio products.
