Under the theme “Paradigm Shift?Changing Architecture, Technologies and Players”, the Nano-Satellite Symposium was held from 10 to 13 October 2012 at Nagoya, Japan. The Symposium is an academic meeting promoting technological development of nano-satellites and their applications, as well as enhancing awareness about their benefits.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center participated in the poster session organized within the framework of the Symposium with the poster “Space Technology Education through University Programs”. The poster shows the development of the Center’s Space Technology Program since 2009 and the future plans set for it.

Space Technology is one of the 21st century's main interests of different sectors, not just to enhance the design and implementation of satellites but because their applications can be extremely beneficial to many aspects of life. Hence, the Planetarium Science Center holds the Space Technology program aiming to introduce students to the marvels of space sciences and their applications in our daily lives. The program supports young people to pursue their studies and careers in the fields of science and technology in order to build a generation of scientists and researchers and build small scientific satellites to advance space research.
