On 7-8 March 2007, The Scientific Center of Kuwait (TSCK), one of NAMES’ founding members hosted the third meeting of the network, marking the first official Board of Directors (BoD) Meeting. The BoD discussed membership applications, as well as eligible science centers within the region to be approached.

During the meeting, the BoD decided that the Network's first General Meeting would take place in 2008, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, with the main theme “Role of Science Centers in Establishing Knowledge-Based Societies in the Region” and the subthemes “Advocacy and Networking” and “Ways of Communicating Science”. Other than the network's members, eligible facilities and personalities within the region would be invited to attend, in addition to the heads of international science centers’ networks and other eminent international facilities and personalities.
