Science Centre Academy: at Technopolis®, the Flemish Science Centre (Mechelen, Belgium)

04 Nov 2014

Setting up or expanding a science centre is not an easy task, but luckily you are not on your own! Would you like to give your project a boost, learn from the mistakes of others and save a lot of money? Then there is good news for you! Technopolis® organizes a new Science Centre Academy for new science centres from Wednesday 11 February till Friday 13 February 2015 (till noon).

As host and organizer of the 10th Science Centre Academy Technopolis® has again invited a number of experts from internationally acknowledged science centres to contribute to this year’s Academy. Along with senior staff members of Technopolis® who have experienced first-hand the set-up and consequent expansion of the Flemish science centre these experts are at your service to answer all your questions about your science centre project.

Specific topics can be added to the programme upon request by registered participants. Because the Science Centre Academy is intended for relatively small groups of participants, it is possible to deal directly with issues specific to your project. Key to the programme is practical and useful advice from experienced professionals in the science centre field.

In the meanwhile over 120 colleagues from the science centre field have participated in the Science Centre Academy at Technopolis®. Amongst the participants were initiators of projects that in the meanwhile have become successful science centres, f.i. Copernicus Science Centre (Warsaw, Poland), Le Vaisseau (Strasbourg, France)…

Technopolis® highly values the exchange of expertise within the science centre field, which is also in line with the 7 action points of the Mechelen Declaration that was published during the 2014 Science Centre World Summit at Technopolis®.
