ABU DHABI SCIENCE FESTIVAL 2013: Switch on and get in the middle of a chain reaction!

Abu Dhabi, 20 November 2013. Budding nuclear scientists where enthralled today at an electric workshop that led children through the science behind a nuclear power plant. Exploring radioactivity, chain reactions and steam, delighted students produced electricity through hand powered generators at the Abu Dhabi Science Festival (ADSF) 2013. The award-winning ADSF is organized by the Abu Dhabi Technology Development Committee (TDC) and will be showcasing the latest and greatest offerings from the world’s leading science and technology providers from 14 - 23 November.

Fascinated participants identified natural and manmade resources as renewable and non-renewable sources of energy and delved into the science discovering how radioactive particles are all around us. This workshop is brought to ADSF 2013 by The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC). ENEC works to deliver safe, clean, efficient nuclear energy to the United Arab Emirates - energy that is needed to support the UAE’s social and economic growth and partnering with academic institutions.

The onsite Box Office at the du Forum opens one hour before the festival opens and is operational for the duration of the Festival, allowing parents to buy tickets for that day, or any other day of the Festival.
