BA Planetarium Science Center: Egyptian team received two awards in the 3rd Intel Science competition- Arab world ISC-Arab 2012

The competition aims to encourage talented students aged 14-18 to show their talents and their innovative insights in scientific research to execute scientific projects based on the methodology and tenets of scientific research.

This year ISC-Arab was organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Education, and UNESCO in the United Arab Emirates from 16 to 19 December at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The four days event gather more than 100 students to present 69 projects to an elite panel of judges.

Students competed for financial awards and scholarships from 11 Arab countries across region: Egypt, Jordan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Tunisia and UAE.

Egyptian team was able to get the first place prize in the field of chemistry and biochemistry students Mahmoud Refaat Ahmed and Ahmed Hani Abdul Rahman for their project “Produce octane fuel using ionized carbon”

Also Yara Ahmad Kamal was ranked second in the field of environment projects for her project “The Fight Of The Black Knight"
