Mishkat Interactive Center is the initiative of the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE). Created by royal decree in April 2010, KA.CARE will guide Saudi Arabia towards a new era of sustainable energy, leading the way in atomic and renewable energy to ensure the best possible use of Saudi Arabia’s abundant energy resources.

To power this innovation, the Kingdom needs talented and passionate Saudi Arabians to lead the charge. Mishkat was created for this mission – to inspire the youth of today to be the energy innovators of tomorrow.

Our Story

Mishkat Interactive Center was created to do to science what a mishkat does to light – spread it beautifully, protect it and enhance it.

Under the auspices of the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE), Mishkat Interactive Center for Atomic and Renewable Energy is a launch pad for learning, inspiring a new generation of Saudi Arabian energy innovators. Our hub is a state-of-the-art science center in Riyadh. Our reach is Kingdom wide.

Our science center is open every school day for booked student groups. It is also a hub for family days, teacher training sessions, after school clubs and discussion events where visits can interact with scientist. Our offer is constantly changing.

We engage audiences across the Kingdom through our cutting-edge traveling exhibition, Saudi 2050.

Our Mission

Support the leading position of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of energy and highlight the importance regarding generation and usage of atomic and renewable energy through the promotion of knowledge and innovation in the science and techniques of sustainable energy by exercising creative experiments. Additionally, contribute in the development of the national human resources and motivate the Saudi new generation to be the pioneers of the future’s energy.

Our Vision

To be an interactive scientific center in the field of sustainable energy in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia that is considered a pioneer in connecting energy science with the community and the lives of the audience through distinguishing the importance of sustainable energy (generation, transformation, storage and usage) to realize a sustainable future for the kingdom’s energy. Mishkat Interactive Center will achieve that with the skills of the young Saudi staff to employ the latest technologies and interactive learning methods in cooperation with distinctive global organizations.
