Al Nayzak for Supportive Education and Scientific Innovation, in partnership with The U.S Consulate General in Jerusalem, has launched an interactive education app that was developed by 39 Palestinian teachers within “STEM Teachers Excellence in Practice” Program which is implemented in the West Bank, Jerusalem and Gaza. The android app was launched at Al Nayzak Entrepreneurship Conference 2016 with the attendance of over 150 of Al Nayzak teachers and students at the Red Crescent Society Headquarters in Al Bireh.
The conference was attended by Ms. Angela Young, Ms. Miral Seryani, Ms. Dana Rassas on behalf of the U.S Consulate General in Jerusalem, Eng. Aref Husseini on behalf of Al Nayzak, and his Exellency Mr. Samer Salameh Deputy Minister of Technical Affairs at the Ministry of Labour.
Ms. Sarah Kuhail, PR officer at Al Nayzak Organization opened the conference with a welcoming speech that highlighted the role of youth in the success of the organization. Ms. Kuhail expressed her pride to be among such entrepreneurial youth, and emphasized the importance of innovation, critical thinking and planning in the development of a brighter future. Ms. Kuhail further thanked the U.S Consulate for their continuous support to Palestinian youth and education.
On behalf of the U.S Consulate General in Jerusalem, Ms. Angela Young expressed her gratitude towards the accomplishments of the Palestinian youth, and emphasized The Consulate’s role in supporting Palestinian innovation. Ms. Young highlighted their strategic partnership with Al Nayzak in support of science and technology, and the development of Palestinian economy.
The Conference included a keynote speech by Mr. Samer Salameh who discussed market needs and the labour force. Eng. Husseini facilitated a dialogue with Mr. Salameh with emphasis on education, vocational training and the need for diversified capacities and a skilled labour force.
The Participants were then distributed into four groups to attend specialized workshops on success factors in entrepreneurship and innovation. The workshops were presented by innovative businessmen and specialists in social media, innovation and entrepreneurship.
In his concluding remark, Eng. Aref Husseini emphasized the importance of hard work and passion to achieving success. Eng. Husseini expressed his satisfaction with Al Nayzak youth, and highlighted the role of teachers in supporting the educational process and building a knowledgeable Palestinian Community. Eng. Husseini thanked the U.S Consulate General in Jerusalem for their continuous support.
The conference also included an innovative projects’ exhibition showcasing the best projects for students and teachers of STEP program. Al Nayzak also launched S.T.E.P app containing 39 games developed by Palestinian teachers. The games offer interactive educational tools that are in line with the official Palestinian Curricula, and can be downloaded on the Google Play Store.
