Towards an Equitable Future
A unique opportunity for science engagement professionals to explore issues of global significance in a vibrant and exciting location.
Join colleagues from all over the world to examine the challenges and opportunities facing humankind in a planet that is shaped increasingly by rapid developments in science and technology. The pace of change is accelerating, leaving many people isolated and without a voice to express their opinions or to shape the society in which they live. This creates a world where inequality prevails.
Science engagement professionals play an important role in helping achieve a more inclusive and equitable society – but much remains to be done.
This Summit will take an innovative approach to exploring three interrelated topics that are critical to the wellbeing of individuals, communities and the earth. Three tracks will enhance participation from delegates around the globe:
- Future of Education and Work
- Future of Biodiversity and Climate Change
- Future of Health and Wellbeing
Delegates will consider a topic in depth; through a series of plenaries and small group interactions with colleagues, subject specialists, policy makers, researchers and a wide range of practitioners, the attendees will share expertise, knowledge and best practice related with the chosen track. Each topic will explore how science centers and museums can embed diversity, access, inclusion and equity more fully to promote an equitable future.
We believe that the Summit will provide stimulating debate and lead to new and innovative collaborations, both inside and outside of our sector. It will also draw upon the vibrancy of Mexico City and its people, using many of the city’s historic and unusual venues for inspiration. There will be ample opportunity to experience its lively culture and warm hospitality. It promises to be a fascinating and rewarding occasion and one that you, as a senior leader in the field, should not miss.
