Role of Science Centers and Museums in Disseminating Scientific Culture in the Arab World

Monastir, Tunisia.
3–5 October 2017

Introduction
Shortage of science centers and museums in the Arab world is one of the obstacles hindering the dissemination of scientific culture among societal sectors. Science centers and museums introduce science in a simplified and attractive way. They show people of different ages and cultural levels that sciences are not rigid or difficult to understand, and can be fun. This would create a new perspective for sciences and their different applications, and would contribute to enriching the knowledge of societies.

Science centers and museums shed light on the value and importance of scientific activity in achieving sustainable development in societies. This can be attained through supporting schools and universities to cope with the advancements of science and technology and develop their educational means. They contribute to building creative abilities in youth, so that they become the researchers of the future and develop their societies.
Science centers and museums play a vital role in supporting scientific research through establishing a relationship between research structures, the economy, and the society.
