Intel-Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and Engineering Fair (Intel-BASEF) 2012

Intel-BASEF is a competition designed to increase the school students awareness of the importance of scientific research and to discover the youth innovative and research capacities. This year, the projects will be evaluated and screened on two levels.

Intel-BASEF participants will be requested to research a certain topic, from among 17 scientific themes. Participating students will be asked to prepare a research paper, a data handbook, a prototype (optional), a display board, an abstract and a presentation. The project could be presented by 1–3 participants. The PSC specialists will offer technical support and expertise advice, to guide the students to complete their projects in line with international standards.

During Intel BASEF competition, students projects will be displayed for final evaluation by university professors, specialized scientists and engineers, as well as industry professional volunteers in line with the international competition standards and guidelines. The first three winning projects will be announced in the Closing Ceremony. They will represent Egypt in Intel International Science And Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, USA, 13-18 May 2012. Intel ISEF is one of the largest pre-college science competitions.

Intel-Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and Engineering Fair (Intel-BASEF) 2012 will be organized by the Planetarium Science Center, on 10 - 12 March 2012.

Please note that the screening round has been postponed to 25 February 2012 and the registration is extended to 22 February 2012.
