Science may be a particularly important domain in early childhood, serving not only to build a basis for future scientific understanding, but also to build important skills and attitudes for learning.
NAMES “Getting Involved in Early Childhood Development” SciComm Mixer took place on Tuesday, 29 November 2022, 12 pm GMT+2.

Science centers and museums play an important role in spreading a love of exploration and increasing science literacy. Three NAMES Full Member institutions shared their approaches to extending the reach of their respective institutions through working with teachers and schools, supporting them in the tackling science in interactive hands-on settings that help develop and sustain an interest in science.

A SciComm Break is an online hands-on 30-minute activity; the first was a tinkering activity cross-cutting between science and arts and led by Ms. Samar Kirresh.

The webinar featured four presenters from NAMES Full Member institutions who delivered presentations about “SciComm Summer Activities” developed and organized at their respective institutions. The presenters shared their Success Stories and Lessons Learned.

NAMES is delighted to announce for the launch of a series of online activities for NAMES Members.

The North Africa and the Middle East Science centers network (NAMES) is participating in the second virtual edition of the Arab Forum for Science Media and Communication (AFSMC 2022). NAMES will be presenting a plenary session during the Forum on Sunday, 27 February 2022, 13:00-14:00 Cairo time.

NAMES network participated as Content Partner in the first “Arab Forum for Science Media and Communication”, held online 21–24 February 2021. Through this partnership, the network provided 25 fellowships to the employees of member institutions to attend the forum for free.
