Even though Science Centers and Children’s Museums are open and welcoming for families with children of all ages, they sometimes offer very little opportunities for children under five-years-old to learn and play with scientific knowledge. Experts in the field will join this session to share their best practices in programming and exhibits for early childhood, teaching us how children are capable and competent to acquire scientific knowledge.
In this reverse session, a case study of a potential new children’s museum will be presented by the Moderator as a challenge to the rest of the panelists. Remarkable institutions will share their experiences working with young audiences and will give their advice based on the best exhibits and programming they have designed, and their pedagogical approach to engage this young audience. The session will then be reversed and the participants will have the opportunity to contribute with ideas.
