Biography:

Reda Kandil is a professional trainer in the science communication field. She works as an Educational Programs Specialist at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center Educational Programs Unit.
She took her first professional step at the PSC as a science communicator and coordinator of different educational scientific programs. One of her project is “School Science Clubs” at the governmental schools, as well as training the science teachers in this field.

Teachers' Programs

The goal of this session is to introduce a sample from the Long-term project, which is present to the public audience from teachers, students, families in the Egyptian community.
Long Term Programs are designed to maintain the communication and to keep tracking of the scientific activities held at school remotely. Also, it facilitates the monitoring and tracking of the activities and their progress. Science Hubs act as satellites of the science centers.
Teachers trainings’ role and methodologies in School Science Clubs:
-Pedagogical Philosophy, based on breaking the barriers of classroom and curriculum to provide space for creativity and innovation, for both the teachers and the students, through the following focal trainings
-Thinking Skills, offered through a minimum of three sessions to change the teacher’s concept of practical science lessons. Accordingly, by the end of the trainings, they will gain the capacity to transform theoretical scientific data to simple hands on activities that students can easily understand
-Six Teaching Methods: The training sessions will be conducted to inform teachers how to mix and match the various teaching techniques based on the students’ capacities and scientific content. These methods are as follows:
