Soulaimene (Slimene) Sedrette was born in Sfax, Tunisia, in April 1977. He graduated from El-Manar University in Tunisia, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences in July 1999 before obtaining his Advanced Studies Diploma in Geology applied to the Environment in 2003, and his Doctorate degree in the field of GIS : remote sensing and geospatial data analysis related to the Geological Sciences, in 2017.
Soulaimene joined Tunis Science City as a scientific mediator since February 2000, where he designed and developed informal science learning resources, and has carried out several roles in the field of science and society.
He was the Project Coordinator of the design and the realization of the «Saharan Dinosaur» exhibit, the first Tunisian interactive scientific exhibition. In March 2014, Soulaimene was appointed as a project manager - founder of Tataouine Science Village. In July 2015, he joined Monastir Science Palace as the Head of Programming and Development Department.
In addition to his role of Science popularization and teaching, Slimene Sedrette is a member of the Research Laboratory "Engineering and Georisk" in the National School of Engineers of Tunis – Tunisia. He has several publications and reviewer in international journals in the fields of GIS, remote sensing and spatial analysis .
